Let’s talk about furniture
Hi students,
As part of our priority to Develop Campus Facilities around Woodroffe, Perth and Pembroke, we have been looking at various areas where the furniture could be improved for the students. We would like to hear input to where we could improve any areas that have indequate study furniture/ areas, or issues with general furniture.

I am employed at a Pittsburgh furniture store. We have a pretty solid college student base because we discount our furniture and give coupons out to college students. We also have a lot of popular college furniture like futons. The best way to make college students happy is to cheapen the price. Right??

Dana – Cheap, yet comfortable furniture is definitely a consideration whenever the SA purchases furniture for students.
Stew… you don’t like the new furniture in the Silent Study Lounge? What don’t you like about it?

Im actually sitting in some of Algonquin’s furniture right now. Im in that little study area outside the library. I like these chairs that have the little tables on a swivel arm. The only problem with them is that they have been used so often that they are falling on a slant. I think they need to be re-enforced, re-adjusted or replaced!

I agree with seating in the J, T and N buildings.
Instead of hard wooden benches everywhere, There should be more comfy seating. Its hard on the toosh.

i really like all of these suggestions, i think we should get futons, they are really comfortable, and i think everyone would enjoy them and not in the way that the first anonymous thinks, get your mind out of the gutter!
i personally dont know exactly where the silent study areas are because im a first year and still trying to get myself around the campus, but if i were to use them i would want to be comfortable nothing is worse then having to study and being uncomfortable it just doesnt work and i would barely get any studying done. if im not comfortable it definitely affects the way i can study and if i can study. and i feel that many people would say the same.
so my suggestion is just getting more comfortable seating for students.
