Algonquin College Students, there are so many opportunities available to you!

International travel can be the most rewarding and challenging experience. For students I know it seems daunting sometimes to travel and pay for tuition but there are many ways to find funding or subsidized programs out there to allow you to do both.

Did you know that here at Algonquin College we actually have a fund for students to travel and volunteer? To access the funding you need apply by to the International Students Office – for more information check out the Algonquin College Financial Aid website.

There are many volunteer organizations that will find you a placement that might even earn you credit, be career related, or just for personal development. It could be with a group of international volunteers or on your own, far away or close to home. As a college student we have many experiences to share with others, but the biggest reward is what they will teach you that you cannot learn in the classroom.

There are always a million reasons not to do something, but you are only alive, in this moment once. Most students have a 4-month summer – that is more than enough time to try something new that will change you mind, body and soul. Algonquin College Student Association is here to provide an environment that inspires a passion for student success in doing so combining college education and international experiences will only enhance your knowledge and success in education and society.
